Here’s my simple philosophy. If I keep my clients happy, they will make me happy. To that end, I observe a few basic rules:
- Function as a strategic, tactical, and creative partner who is fundamentally concerned with your success
- Maintain an open flow of communication
- Never miss a deadline
Beyond these rules, my clients appreciate the five things that make me different from many professional copywriters.
1. Unique ability to think like a marketer and write like a storyteller.
As Captain Obvious might say, everything online is connected.
For your business to succeed online, you have to create a clear, logical, and persuasive path that moves visitors from (1) the search engine or social media platform to (2) a page on your website to (3) a call to action that takes them to (4) a landing page with a (5) form they fill out which generates a (6) thank you page or message and (7) thank you email and (8) a series of nurturing emails that (9) link them back to the site and (10) deeper into their journey as a buyer. This is just one way it can work. There are many options.
The important thing is that the writer needs to be a strategic thinker in order to understand how all the pieces weave together. My experience as an inbound marketer gives me the edge in helping you identify, attract, engage, and persuade your ideal customers.
2. Develop strategy and tactics based on research and analysis
Through research and analysis, I will develop your Buyer Personas, Competitive Analysis, and Brand Position. This information is critical to determining:
- Who your ideal customers are
- What content will be essential to them
- How you can use content to stand out from the competition
I started developing the techniques I use for developing this marketing intelligence in 2001. Clients find it to be invaluable.
3. Apply creative thinking to the business case
As one longtime client has described it,
Unlike many consultants, who polish what you tell them and serve it right back to you, Meyer always raises the conversation to the next level. I don’t have to explain everything to him. He quickly grasps the business case and translates it into an actionable marketing strategy.
Most of my engagements begin with an evaluation of what’s being done now and my recommendations for how to get better results. Don’t hesitate to ask me to take a look at your website, landing pages, blog, etc.
4. Draw from a broad range of success
I’ve produced successful outcomes for companies of all shapes and sizes, from B2B service companies to high-end B2C retailers and beyond. Engagements have served small local businesses, Fortune 500 companies, and everybody in-between.
There is no magic involved. Every project begins with understanding the audience and ends with persuading them that your business is the right choice for them.
5. Become a part of your team
I love what I do, and when I accept you as a new client, I will love what you do. I will be a champion for your business. For me, that means going the extra mile to:
- Look for every opportunity to help you succeed
- Be an enthusiastic and low-maintenance team player
- Complete every project on-time and on-budget
Add it all up
If these five reasons resonate with you, perhaps we should work together.
